How to make money on Fiverr

Outsourcing is one of the core components of every serious business. As a business owner you simply don’t have the time or money to hire all kinds of people, especially if you need some services only temporary/project based.

Freelancing is a very popular way to make money on the internet. I am sure many of you know freelancer.com and similar websites.

Why is Fiverr.com different?

Being a fiverr service user, I think that the website is a lot more user friendly, then other freelance website. It is a lot easier to find what I am looking for. Other freelance websites are full of service providers, who live in developing countries, and this is why they can offer their services for such a low price. Fiverr is also full with these people, but you will often find US and other people, offering services that others simply can’t do: i.e. voice recording.

The other important aspect is that Fiverr is hot right now, and everybody is on fiverr. For me asa¬† customer it’s better if there is competition, because competition always leads to better quality.

What services to offer on Fiverr?

I have the feeling that the most popular services are SEO/linkbuilding services. If you own scrapebox, you could scrape your own 20.000 auto approved list and offer a commenting service on Fiverr. Some of the freelancers have 5000+ sold gigs.

Always go with what works best for you and what is the most popular. If you offer something unique, you may have less or no competition, but you may also get fewer customers.

  1. I both buy and sell on Fiverr. I was starting to buy quite a few gigs so I started creating a few that only took me a minute or so such as selling some articles.

I even went as far as to simply put the download link in the buyers instructions so that people could simply download whatever I was selling instantly. Which took care of just about everything on the customer service aspect, they get an e-mail from fiverr telling them to check their messages, then when they do check they’re able to download right away. It would be perfect if they didn’t have to respond in order to make sure an order was completed as of Fiverr tos.

Another way to go about making the good money using Fiverr is to go after local businesses and sell them SEO & Social Media services. Generally local markets offer a lot less competition and you can bill out a few hundred dollars worth of work and simply outsource the work on Fiverr. I’d recommend finding a good seller first though.

    • Great ideas as to offer downloadable products. As for local seo, its a mystery to most Brick and mortar or local business so the profit margins are bigger.

Leveraging your time is the path to wealth.

  2. I definitely agree with you that Fiverr and gig sites offer ALOT of advantages over traditional Freelance sites like Elance or odesk. Of course there are some caveats, but the point of entry is on the cheap… for only $5 you can find the help of expert providers. Gigs are relatively simple but its really important to read the reviews. I have purchased some Gigs and the results were a bit lack luster. Providers are also flexible in terms of what they can do and are more often than not, open to be adjust their services for what you need.

    Cheers!
